Lucky Me!

Create Change Today

Raelene Byrne - Medicine for Your Spirit - Monday, January 02, 2012

Call me a tree hugger, greenie, peace loving, bare foot hippy if you want, that does not hurt me. What creates the pain in my heart, which gnaws away constantly and hurts deeply, like the bleeding wound that never really heals, is the lack of awareness, the helplessness and lack of power that humanity, in general, feels as we watch what is being done to our home, this planet.

Expecting the big companies and corporations to change their ways so we can have a healthier world is really placing the power outside of ourselves. We blame them, judge them and complain about “what they are doing to this planet”. Well we need to wake up.

Engaging our own personal power around what we want for our world is where the true change happens. All the things we do as individuals, adds to the collective. Being accountable for our own place and actions, in this remarkable world, allows us the freedom to live in a way that we believe is more supportive to the environment.

Have a look around at the hypocrisy that blatantly is on show.

We are told to monitor our power usage….ever seen a city at night. The power usage in all those buildings ablaze with light filled empty offices must be extraordinary. Yes, very pretty and magical but Practical…..??

We are shown images of forests being mown down around the world at alarming rates, yet the politicians and leaders who show concern, put out the most ridiculous amounts of printed advertising material that we all normally toss into our ‘recycle’ bins because we are doing our bit for the planet.

Corporations and Companies are extracting enormous amounts of resources from the earth and placing them in storage, yet we are told there are shortages

In drought situations where householders are required to limit water usage, there are no ‘limits’ placed in manufacturing industries that require incredible amounts of water.

The Firework displays that cities around the world so proudly display, spending millions on for a few moments of delight, yet the same governments taking credit, talk about lack of funds for hospital beds and wings to stay open.

I could go on and on, but that doesn’t achieve anything apart from venting. The next step is what can you to Do in your daily life. What small changes can you introduce and live with, that will ultimately create change in a bigger picture and on a global scale ? ( remembering that every small action adds to the collective whole).

Please watch this 4 minute video and be inspired to create the small changes that will make a difference today. Your heart will guide you to the wisdom of your power to change and become more responsible with your place on this earth. We breathe, the earth breathes, and we are connected in that breath. We are ONE with Earth.

Lucky Me?

LUCKY ME?

When you do what you love and you love what you do, why is that some people say that you are ‘lucky’? It is not luck that creates the life you want for yourself, it is choices and bloody hard work.

What people see from the outside, is a person who radiates in the freedom of doing something that brings joy and fulfilment. However to get to that place takes an enormous amount of hard heart work, belief in self, constant self-assurance that you are in the right place, consistent self-examination, and a commitment to doing all that needs to be done, to ‘enjoy’ the work and  lifestyle  a person has chosen.

When the calling comes to follow the guidance of your heart and to move into a field that you love as your source of financial income and lifestyle, the steps that are taken are not light nor are they frivolous.

Each step towards that goal takes courage, bravery and a thick skin. There are so many ‘knockers’ out there. They often moan about their own bosses, whinge about their work  colleagues, have issues with the work they are paid to do…….yet they are being paid regularly, they know what they will be receiving each week, and most when they go home,  can switch off from the work day totally.

For those who are ‘lucky’, those who have created their own business from something they enjoy doing, the financial rewards often take a long time to come about. There is much uncertainty from week to week.

There is the emotional, physical, and mental strains that occur as people branch out into the field they want to share. Many hours of planning, going without, knock-backs, knock downs, and questions from loved ones as to why are you doing this. Why don’t you just get a real job?  Friends often feel forgotten as you spend much time putting things in place and your hours of availability change.

The calling of the soul, the whisper of the spirit to follow your destiny is not an easy road. It is one that is fraught with lessons, setbacks, however, these are faced,  met, learned from and worked through to bring something even stronger, more solid to life. That is what creates the ‘luck’ of doing what you love to do.

Those who persevere and bring their destiny to life, find that the rewards of fulfilment, and satisfaction far outweigh the fiscal rewards, which eventually when you keep working at it will improve.

A wise man once said…..”the harder I work, the luckier I get”…….

People who see those who are doing what they love, may think they are lucky, and if that is true, then why aren’t the onlookers lucky? Why aren’t they doing something to create that luck in their own lives……. Why aren’t they changing the things they find restrictive, annoying and boring with their lives.

Because on some level they know it is hard work. You have to face yourself, every strength, and every weakness, every aspect of what you can offer, give and where you have to hold back. When you do what you love and love what you do, the boundaries of working and living become blurred.

Putting yourself out there in the world is an exposure, you have nothing to hide behind, no-one to stand up for you and as for valuing yourself, well that is a deep heart journey of its own. It takes a LONG time and many lessons, to value yourself and the services you offer.

In my ‘lucky life’…I have had to dig deep into my soul, bring all the darkness, all the old beliefs, paradigms, strategies and sabotage into the bright light of day and deal with it. Sometimes it has been in view of the people I am working with. The luxury of escaping on ‘stress leave’, or disappearing for a sickie is unheard of.

Discipline becomes a hard taskmaster as it  mentors  you  to meet deadlines, stay healthy, keep up to date with all the current trends in your field,  work on your business promotion, marketing, bring inspirations to life, deal with the day to day accounting, appointments and still find time to have a life outside of all of this. Yes LUCKY aren’t we! I won’t get started on the sacrifices that are made continually.

I am not complaining, just pointing out that next time you see someone radiant with joy as they go about their work,   perhaps honour or congratulate them for having the courage to step into their passion, maybe thank them for sticking with their dream, or consider that they have worked bloody hard for that moment to be in complete alignment with their purpose.

It is definitely not luck, it is determination, willpower, discipline, sacrifice, focused intention, visions, dreams, goals and the push of your inner knowing to keep you true to who you are, what you can offer and how you take it to the world.

I bow to all who have taken the steps to do what they love and love what they do………We give everything from our hearts
