Medicine For Your Spirit

Question to ask yourself

Raelene Byrne - Medicine for Your Spirit - Wednesday, August 03, 2011

When you see the beauty of a person with their hands in prayer position and head bowed slightly towards their chest, do you fully understand what is happening in that moment?

Yes it is symbolic of the act of prayer, the moment where we are speaking to a higher power, asking for help, offering thanks, sometimes we are bargaining to change something in life if we give something else away. We could be offering blessings and intentions for people suffering. No matter what we do in that time of prayer, it is a sacred and intense act of connection to something greater.

When we bow our heads towards our chest, we are bowing to our heart. We are acknowledging and honouring the god within, the truth of who we are, that part of us that carries all the wisdom we need for our entire life. We can speak to our heart and hear the answers in a flash of inspiration.

Our hands joined, symbolises the joining of all that we are to a place of oneness, where  everything flows into each other. The masculine, the feminine, the giving , the receiving, the actions and the emotions as represented by right and left hand sides of our bodies. That gesture of hands at the heart to me, represents that flame of divinity. So as we bow to our heart, we are ‘seeing’ that connection of all that we are, as one united being, totally supported.

We bow to the teacher within and ask, what is my truth right now? We listen for the answers, and then when that flash of inspiration appears, we acknowledge it, and sometimes put things into action. Living in our truth is absolutely paramount in these times of evolution.  It allows us to be full of integrity all the time. By bowing to the teacher within, we are always the student, listening for the wise answers that live in our heart.

So what do you think you would hear if you bowed your head to your heart, and asked……

What am I lying to myself about?”

This is completely different.  As you sit listening to your heart answer this, you will be given some very raw and unexpected answers. It takes incredible courage to ask the question, but even more to hear the answers.

It is so important to grasp the answers as they come in that instant, as the mind will kick in and begin its role of justifying all that it hears. No matter what your heart delivers as a revelation, your mind will quickly try to avoid, evade, justify and twist to suit what your life is about right now.

Our minds are very complex and very powerful. The mind can make us believe black is white, if it has to!

So” what am I lying to myself about?” takes a different road. It is a deeper question that has to take you to parts of yourself that you may never venture. We are all very good at lying to ourselves, and avoiding aspects of ourselves. Seeking truth about ourselves is a beautiful journey and extremely empowering, however can you imagine how profound the experience of discovering what lies you tell yourself can be. There is more freedom, as then you can really live a truthful life on every level.

Perhaps we hear that it is our health, it could be our belief around a relationship, could be that you really aren’t happy with your life, and have become very good at lying to yourself about. There are people who will tell themselves that they  are happy with where they are in life, yet, that is a lie, they see themselves being and doing so much more, yet are too ruled by fear to move towards their visions.……When we have the courage to go there, ask the question, then, we can only act on it and be more whole, complete and healed.

Clarifying this part of our life is not about going to the ‘dark side’ as some would initially presume, it is about bringing light to the parts that need to be healed, to be resolved and to find the truth within

Next time you see a person with their head bowed to their chest, speaking with their heart, honour that moment of greatness, as they are humbly readying themselves  for a deep connection to their teacher, to their absolute truth, to the light of divinity that we all carry and need to shine .

What are you lying to yourself about, and how can that set you free?
